Melada

Melada is a mermaid that roams the ocean surrounding Themenia. While other mermaids are known for calming lullabies or alluring sonatas, Melada's more into rock n' roll. Even from a glance, you can tell she comes from rockier shores. She gets very antagonistic w/ humans because of their rampant dumping of trash into the ocean. Any trash she finds while swimming she'll toss back onto the nearest beach for some schmuck to trip over or puncture their foot in a karmic fashion.

Personality:

Melada comes off as rowdy and aggressive, especially towards land-dwelling beings. It's very easy for her to hold a grudge, and she usually doesn't give up on getting back at someone that wronged her.
Despite her distaste of land dwellers, it doesn't stop her from saving people from drowning or being attacked by ocean predators. She wouldn't let the ocean take out someone if they didn't deserve it.

Powers/Weaponry/Attributes:

Weaponizing Waste: One man's trash is a mermaid's method of defense. Melada often uses ocean waste as makeshift weapons, like using discarded fishnets and lines for towing or lassoing other evildoers, or making a shield and armor out of washed up floaties.

Pollution Resistance: Through exposure to it over time, Melada gained great resistance to oily and acidic liquid. Unlike most aquatic beings, she can swim through without issue, and whatever goop or acid sticks to her doesn't burden her at all.

Rough Skin: Melada's skin is unusually coarse, causing scrapes if brushed against too hard. Even her hair, arguably the softest part of her, is covered in pieces of splintery wood, easily causing pricks w/ careless ruffling.
