Introduction
❝ How funny that you’re made of fear, and yet that’s all you feel.❞
Codius Daggenmaw, often just called Cody, is a shapemasker of medium height with a wiry frame. Their face is a little rounder, with scruffy golden hair. They have incredibly sharp teeth, elliptical pupils and strong claws. Their face is often blushed, so when they actually blush they turn a brilliant red.
They’re rather laid back, with an anything goes kind of personality. They like to play with their friends, and hide from their duties. This leads to them getting in trouble quite a bit with the manor’s headmistress, but the punishments never seem to actually stick on them, and they keep doing what they want to anyway. Cody has moments that they call… mind colds. Some days they’ll wake up and feel so tired, and sad, that they’ll just stay in bed. Cody adores their friends, and would do anything, anything for them.

Backstory
Cody may pretend to be a shapemasker, but they’re secretly an ancient species with many names. Dream eaters, nightmare walkers, anomalies. Their species is incredibly powerful, with the ability to change their shape, mass and size. They technically exist in all three plains, the spiritual realm, the dream realm and the physical. They can haunt people’s dreams, turn them into nightmares, and are extremely difficult to kill. They also feed off of different emotions.. Cody is supposed to feed on fear, but absolutely refuses. Dude to this they’ll either have to find a way to survive, or simply fade away.
Younger Years
When Cody was very young, and went by a different name, they had two friends, and a brother. One of these friends, they treated like a sister, but at some point, disaster hit, and she was murdered. They’ve been spending the rest of their existence chasing down her reincarnations.
Though, each time they track her down, she doesn’t remember them. They tried their best to get her to remember, but eventually decided to just keep meeting back up with her when she reincarnates again.
During Current story
Under their current name, they live in Creature Sector. Originally, they worked as a delivery person for the manor, as a favor from the headmistress to their nonexistent guardian, However, Cody would frequently shirk their duties, preferring to hang out with Kitty, steal Cinnamon buns from the meal hall, or hanging out in the moss by the lake. This would often get them in trouble, but as the most frequent punishment was to help the cafeteria staff with meal prep or inventory, Cody didn’t see it as much of a punishment. The cafeteria staff dotes on them, and Cody knows all of their names.
When Smokey moves in, and it turns out she’s the heiress of the manor, Cody is enlisted to keep an eye on her, and to protect her. It doesn’t help that the Headmistress is starting to crunch the numbers on Cody’s productivity… and she believes that Cody might be better elsewhere…
Relationships
Kitty Curious
Cody met Kitty one sunny day in the manor shortly after she moved in. Cody, who adores cats, saw her and immediately went to introduce themself to her. Only for it to go horribly wrong, as they stuttered through the entire introduction. However, they are the best of friends now, almost siblings. Kitty would kill for Cody, and has threatened it before.
Smokey Wolf
Cody met Smokey when she stumbled into their life one late night. Cody was wandering the mansion well past curfew when she knocked on the door and asked to come in, and of course they let her. She waltzed right through the door, and right through Cody’s heart. It takes the duo a very long time of wading through feelings before eventually becoming nesters. They keep each other on their toes, and Smokey makes sure Cody takes care of themself.
Tenlor Sythis
Cody spent a stint of time in the underworld, called Thanaris. They met many of the souleasts that lived there, and the creatures introduced Cody to Sythis. Cody immediately fell in love with the god, but felt as if they didn’t deserve to love him, it was their fault their faux sister died all that long ago.. Cody, Of course, secretly pined for Tenlor anyway. Right before they left the underworld, Cody bred purple flowers until they had one that matched the shade of Tenlor’s eyes perfectly. Cody gifted him the bloom, and left before waiting for an answer.
