Many hotels and bars of Thundren cities are known for their entertainment; beautiful Kamishibas with equally beautiful voices. In a crowd of shining gems, it is hard to carve a name for yourself. One golden singer trying to make a name for himself has created a less than shining reputation.
On stage his name is Goldie, a solo singer who is more than aware of his beauty. An artist of particularly mournful songs and known for his beautiful sadness, he entices many who wish to fix or heal him. And those not drawn in by the 'anguish that can only be healed by love' can still find themself attracted to his friendly and inviting nature. Flirting seems to come naturally to Goldie as breathing in spite of the sorrow that lies behind his eyes. When spotted in the bar rather than on stage, it is rare to see him leave alone - and never with the same individual twice.
Goldie is not real. Goldie is just an act. The man behind the persona, Galileo, is nothing like the brave face he puts on for everyone else. Oh the sorrow is real, haunting him in all aspects of his life, but the confidence? The light hearted, friendly nature? All fake. In truth his self-esteem is hanging on by a thread. The constant stream of lovers was not the actions of a playboy or amorous Kamishiba, but rather the futile struggle to find love when one has never felt it. Attraction isn't the issue, he experiences physical attraction just fine and his beauty makes it easy to attract in turn, it is when they want more from that he begins to stumble. Friendships were easy, low maintenance, and Galileo was not lacking for friends. But his partners rarely ever wanted something so casual. Weighed down by expectations and milestones, he withdraws emotionally and before he knows it the relationship has broken beyond repair. And then it is gone. His heart is scared, yet he has no one but himself to blame.

Singing
Blessed with a beautiful baritone voice, Galileo has spent many years perfecting his voice. He takes great care of it, after all it is how he earns his money. While he might claim to some that it was simply natural talent he was born with, Galileo has actually practised and trained his singing voice since he was very young, often under the tutelage of experts.
Piano
A skill his parents were adamant he should learn. He’s always loved the soft, solemn notes of the piano and never once complained during his lessons. After he left home and took up his job as a singer, he has had less opportunity to use the piano. Occasional he can find ways to implement it in his performances but often it is not what the venue owner wants from him.
Mathematics
Never really one for numbers or equations, Maths was one of the first things he abandoned. But now with homeschooling Birba, he has been forced to pick the subject back up and struggle to teach his daughter a subject he himself does not fully understand.
Cooking
Galileo never really learnt how to cook beyond the basics of preparing sandwiches and boiling eggs. Before he would live off of take out, restaurants, or the rare meal cooked by someone else. Caring for Birba, his budget has significantly dropped. No more restaurants or take out, he invested in a small stack of cookbooks which he attempts to learn from.

Birba
His little star. Birba was dropped off rather unceremoniously on his doorstep one night by her other parent and left in Galileo’s care. While he was - and still is - out of his depths when it comes to raising a child, especially by himself, Galileo would never trade the years with his daughter for anything. She has become his greatest treasure and everything he does, he does for her and her future. He constantly worries about her, his mind filled with the horrors she could experience - he does his best to protect her from these fictional tragedies, unaware of how he is smothering her, keeping her isolated from the world.
