Damien Lacroix

Damien was born on MAY 8, 1540 in Sélestat, France. He lived a rather quiet life despite his family's low income. He was indeed a joyful child, a little shy but above all very kind. When he was 16 years old, he met Blanche, a mysterious young girl. The two of them quickly became inseparable, meeting every night in an old abandoned house. Blanche showed Damien certain things, things that were far beyond his comprehension. Blanche was a witch and what she showed Damien, she didn't show to anyone else. The two continued to grow up, with Damien losing first his dying mother and then his father who died of grief.

1560, the witch hunt began. It was a mess all over the country, but especially here in Sélestat. Some of Blanche's sisters were burned alive and it was unthinkable for Damien to lose his best friend. That's when he decided to hide her and help her. His little plan worked well until 1565 when Blanche was finally caught. Of course, she was not doing anything wrong, but that was not the opinion of the people who saw her and her sisters as monsters. Like many others, she was burned alive. As for Damien, he was tied up and thrown into a lake where he drowned.

Once in the Underworld, and more precisely in the second circle, Damien was judged. He was judged by Minos, the former King of Crete and current judge of the Underworld. Minos took a long look at him to see which circle he would be sent to, his long tail beginning to wrap around the young man's body. A turn, then two, three... Until 7. The verdict was in: 7th circle of Hell, home of violence. His crime? Not having recognized the divine power. Indeed, Damien had at one time implored God's help, but he never answered him, so he wondered why he let so many people kill each other and quickly ended up losing his faith. That was his "sin".

So he was condemned to walk endlessly on burning sand and in a rain of fire. For decades he endured the pain, enduring it so much that he eventually changed, becoming resilient. The demons who oversaw this place eventually took him away and locked him up for a while in prison, Hell having evolved over time, so had the practices. However, during the journey to the latter, the young demon managed to escape by a stroke of luck. Now on the run, he looked for a place to take refuge. It is there that he fell on someone, a person... Radiant, innocent and curious. It was an angel who was too curious and had snuck in to see this strange world with his own eyes. Damien immediately fell in love with him. The young angel's name was Lown, and with him he set off on a long journey to the top of Hell in the attempt to escape together.

Later, the angel was caught; in reality, it was one of the sons of God himself. Their little escapade came to an end and they never saw each other again. However, Damien attracted the attention of Satan, a demon on the run with an angel, and not just any angel, either - they don't run in the streets! At first he decided to hire him as a cleaner, but as time went by Damien worked his way up to become his right-hand man. The demon intrigued the lord, and over the centuries a real complicity developed between them, even if Damien seems to say otherwise.

Today, Damien is one of the most powerful demons in Hell, having risen through the ranks. Feared, respected and listened to, he has come a long way. He now lives in a large Victorian mansion he bought himself, in the second circle of Hell, with his two adopted sons Zack and Daemon.
