One day, while traveling in the woods, a silent thief ran into... the (self-proclaimed) greatest wizard of all time! Overwhelmingly talkative and never-endingly (some might say irritatingly) cheerful, the wizard deduced they were both after the same thing- a castle that was rumored to contain within its walls anything that anyone searched for. Saying that they were looking for their lost hat, the wizard decided to join the thief in their travels.
The wizard is surprisingly powerful, with an extremely varied repertoire of spells. On the other hand, they're surprisingly naive- they trust people easily, and seem almost clueless about the world they live in. They never talk about their past at length- when prompted, they say they're a traveling wizard trying to recover a hat they lost, and stop there. They love to talk about just about anything else, and when they get started on a topic, it's hard to get them to stop. After a series of daring escapades, they and the thief have become the best of friends.
