Distant Fields is an iterator whose superstructure caved in and left them in a state of crisis. They have a slugcat named The Fetcher who helps them get important stuff outside and inside the superstructure while their communications are down.
DF is overall a calming presence but after the cave in they became colder. They remain kind to Fetcher though, they have a special bond to the slugcat since it's the only thing keeping them from total isolation.
