Mesa is a very easy guy to get along with. You could probably strike him across the face and he wouldn't get mad, but why would anyone want to do that? He might look a bit intimidating at first glance, standing 6'2 and rather fit, but the warm smile on his face will probably clue you in to his true nature. He can often be too trusting with people, however, often telling others too much.

Growing up in Houston, Texas, his parents wanted him to follow in their footsteps and become an astronomer. He never really understood what they were after or why they wanted it, being much more focused on nature and bugs, to the point where he would occasionally bring ants and beetles and other creepy-crawlies home with him.

He set off on his own, visiting several national parks, looking for a place to settle down near. When he came to the Grand Canyon, he was enraptured instantly, taking commissions for photographs and selling them to big-name magazines. He met his best friend Undine at a convention. His parents don't quite get his interests, but they could never be more proud.
