VERY BIG WIP

Shinewing’s are large creatures with features of multiple animals, they are most often found in the mountains or open territory like meadows and fields. They have long muzzles with a rabbit-like nose, eyes like a goat, ears like rabbits, and the body of a large wild cat. Their claws are like the talons of a large bird, with a “thumb” on the back of their paw. Their claws are very long, which is helpful for swooping down and snatching their prey from the ground.

Due to the length of their claws, they cannot fully retract them.

Shinewing’s fur is short, thick, and silky. The fur on their head is long and most commonly brushed backwards.

they have long, curled whiskers, and curled tufts on their ears. Their tail is very thin, with long tufts of fur at the end, and 4-6 feathers along it. Occasionally smaller feathers will grow on the tail, but it’s very unusual for them to grow as long as the other feathers. If a Shinewing loses its tail it will grow back with time.

a male Shinewing is called a buck, while a female is called a doe.

Though it’s a bit uncommon, some Shinewings have horns like goats. Any kind of horns you may see a goat with, a shinewing may have. Both bucks and does can grow horns.

a group of Shinewings is called a nest, herd, or colony.

Bucks are always bright colors, if their colors are dark or dull the shinewing is sick, weak, or terribly injured. The brighter the shinewing the more power they have In the nest. The doe‘s colors tend to be darker and duller, though some may have bright colors like the bucks, it’s not as common. Just as much respect is given to them though.

A young Shinewing is called a kit

Shinewings are VERY territorial, they often fight with each other, outsiders are not often allowed to join nests they didn’t originally belong to.

Shinewings always have stripes on their legs and face, but it’s very uncommon they have them anywhere else. They often have speckles, most commonly on their shoulders, wings, and back, occasionally they will have them on their face, legs, or paws, though it’s rare.
