Being terminally unlucky has been a cause of much trouble in Kaya's life, but despite that, she's like a ray of sunshine. Despite her foolishness and clumsiness, she gets along with pretty much anyone.
She runs a shop of curios that has been passed down in the family since her great grandparents' generation. Her parents are still around but she is the proprietor of the shop. It hasn't been perfect under her care, but her innate ability to make friends help immensely.
She's a bit of a hopeless romantic, and is entirely too flattered when this strange actor happens upon her knickknack shop and seems to develop an interest in her, though she's too foolish to notice.

- Kaya has a ton of friends and acquaintances from all over.
Optimistic to a fault, Kaya has always been a ray of sunshine wherever she goes. This gains her favor with most people, though some would find this natural disposition of her feeling kind of forced.
On top of this optimism, she suffers from the fact that she is quite foolish and gullible. She's lucky enough to have people around her to compensate, but she is definitely not doing great. She coasts through life on likeability alone.
She's also HIGHLY clumsy; do not let this woman cook.

A strange actor who enters Kaya's shop one day; they seem a bit awkward, and Kaya being the fool she is doesn't even recognize them since she doesn't know much about pop culture.
Despite her making a huge mess of the situation the first time they meet, Loren still returns to the shop soon after, and keeps coming back over and over; this both flatters and confuses Kaya.
- She always wears an apron over her clothes, because she has a tendency to get stuff on her clothes; this helps her not to get things stained. It has to be replaced pretty regularly because of how dirty and tattered it gets.
- She's always nursing some sort of injury, especially on her hands and face which remain uncovered most of the time.
- She's always wearing sandals or shoes with velcro and zippers. She can't wear anything with laces because they always tangle up.
