Story
the shepherd started calling herself such at a young age, waking up one morning insisting to be referred to correctly, by her title. far from anyone to criticize a heillige, any old names were cast aside, and any official records of the shepherd from her birth on refer to her by such. around the time of her full maturity, loved ones could be overheard referring to her as evangeline, but few are told to do so.
the children of avorhelle walk an especially destined path, with each guiding the highest courts of the remiscuan throne in turn. evangeline is no different, and took her mantle early on - the gifts of the shadowseer removing the risks of immaturity. she's resided within whitecliff castle since childhood, and spends much of her time in her combination workshop-laboratory built into an empty sector of the castle dungeons. she was approached around a decade ago by jaská, heillige of tevareh, for assistance with her duties to the queen - mildly delusional and insistent, queen clairissa incorrectly assumed that all heillige have the use of future sight. lacking such and wanting to keep her job, jaská aids the shepherd with a variety of things in exchange for the answers to the queen's queries.
the shepherd is currently in the early stages of publishing her life's work, detailed studies on the effects of various poisons on the bodies of different species, under a pseudonym in a different city - the crown may not be too pleased to hear about the scientific efforts made under the castle halls.
