Dani grew up in the Capital as a prince but is later revealed to be the result of an affair Queen Lyra had. He deflects to Tongyi after the reveal and is taken in by Evanna, who adopts him in all but name until she does even that. He's there when the portal opens to another world, and when the larger group of humans come through, he finds himself drawn to two of them in particular. He now acts as Tongyi's leader with Taylor and Jeremiah at his sides.
