The Corrupt Goddess
Ceridwen is a goddess fueled by her need for worship and admiration. She believes deeply that she deserves power and prestiage, and acts selfishly for her own gain. Ceridwen has found the company of mortals more easily manipulated than relationships with other deities, and thus is almost entirely isolated from the other members of the Astral Plane. Instead, her power and attention are devoted towards the world of mortals; rewarding worship and devotion with small gifts of magic and enchantment. She takes great care in shaping the paths of her chosen mortal followers, ensuring that they are able to best preach her name and accomplish her goals. She cares little for the morals of those who follower her, aiding both good and evil alike. The only metric Ceridwen uses to judge worth is what the mortal has to offer her; should they have little, they are worthless in her eyes.
Ceridwen's every action is guided by her selfish nature. Expressions of emotion and empathy are calculated and ultimately motivated by her own needs. She is greedy, thriving on prayer and attention. Furthermore, she is clever, able to strategize far into the future for her own good. While she is not blind to the effects of her actions on others, she rarely takes the time to care. She has rejected the hands-off philosophy of other deities, prefering her own way and her own gain.

Personality
Ceridwen is a goddess intrinsicallt driven by her own self-interest. She is known to act entirely on her own behalf, placing her own gain far above the effects of her action on others. Her empathy is greatly lacking, particularly for morals, who she views as highly disposable and short-lived. That being said, there is nothing that Ceridwen desires more than worship. She longs for power and for accolades. Mortals are the most willing to offer these; and therefor, Ceridwen has abandoned her relationships with the other deities in favor of gaining power and favor of the mortals.
Ceridwen sees little value in any individual mortal life. Howevever, she is deeply clever and manipulative. Over the many eons of her existence, she has discovered the gullibility of mortals-- with only small shows of her power and gifts of magic, mortals will devote their lives to her service and preach her name. She chooses her followers carefully, picking among the mortals those who can best draw in worshippers and accomplish her goals. She manipulates each of them with carefully-selected gifts of power and enchantment, different to each follower, chosing her gifts to make each her perfect servant. She cares not for the motivations of her followers; whether they are good or evil, whether they worship her whole-heartedly or only in exchange for magic to fuel their own goals, she cares not. If they do what she wishes for them, if they bring more to her following, they are worthy of her gifts.
The worship of mortals have convinced Ceridwen of her own worth. She believes that she is deserving of the accolades she receieves, and demands such high regard from mortal and deity alike. This has led to her being highly ostracized from the other deities, especially the lawful and good who see her for her greed. This has caused Ceridwen to desire the worship of mortals even more, the only peoples who are willing to give her what she desires. She is antisocial, preferring worship to a true relationship. She is apathetic to the problems of others and shows little empathy. The mood goddess is the center of a world of her own creation; one which she must carefully balance to maintain her tenuous position of power and esteem.

Summary
Early Existence
As a divine being, born with the very birth of the universe and the first instance of creation, Ceridwen's early existence was one of confusion and uncertainty. The gods, much like early mortals, were struggling to merely understand their world and the roles they fulfilled. Some spirits of the astral plane fought for power, attempting to exert their power over the newly formed world, while others hung back, waiting for something they did not yet understand. Ceridwen, being cunning and anisocial, asserted herself early. Though she rarely allied with other spirits, she was quick to demand the respect she believed she deserved, and made it clear from the beginning that she felt she deserved power. It has been this desire which has guided her relationship with Astral and Mortal Planes ever since.
Relationship with Mortals
The advanvement of the mortal world was slow; it took many millenia before the mortals were able to understand the presence of the spirits in their world. During the time before the consciousness of mortals, Ceridwen's struggles were devoted solely to the other members of the Astral Plane. While she attempted to assert herself in a position of power and respect amid the other deities, many paid her little mind over the centuries, seeing no reason why she should be given power or rule.
It was among mortals where Ceridwen was finally able to realize the power she felt she deserved. The mortals looked up at the moon and saw Cerdiwen for the goddess that she was: a spirit of mystery and of intrigue, ever changing and yet with an enchantment, a beauty. Many embraced her worship, and the mood goddess quickly rose to a position of respect and high esteem with the mortal world. For ever worshipper she gained, for every mortal who devoted their lives or prayers to her, Ceridwen only became more desperate for their accolades.
The Ministry of the Moon
To those who worshipped her, Cerdiwen began to gift small rewards, tiny blessings to encourage belied and prayer in her name. To her mose devoted, she gave magic; allowing them to harness her powers within the mortal world. Healing, rejuvenation, enchantment, luck: all were within her domain to gift. Following the allure of magic, more mortals fell into step with her followers, becoming clerics in her name. Under Ceridwen's guidance, orders were formed in her following, groups who spread her name among the civilizations. Soon, she was among the most widely known deities, with many mortals knowing of her power and grace.
However, for Ceridwen, recognition of her name would never be enough. She wished for worship, for prayer, for accolades; she would go to any length to gain the attention of the mortals. She continued to wield her powers over the Mortal Plane, exerting over them an influence greater than most any other deity, all aimed to reward those who serve her and enable them to convet more to her following. Ceridwen is known to choose her mortal followers carefully, gifting to those who do the most for her. She does not choose a side but instead will gladly work on behalf of good or of evil; to her, intention matters far less than the extent of worship. Her most devoted cult of followers lies in the kingdom of Auberves; a people of grey morals and greed who act as healers and enchanters to spread her magic to corrupt the non-believers.
Trivia
Ceridwen rarely appears to mortals. Those who believe that they have seen her true form have only seen projections, shaped to make her appear as beautiful and regal as possible.
The rumor among mortals is that touching the form of the goddess would grant immortality, though this is only a myth.
Ceridwen's greatest enemy is the sun god-- not due to any action he has taken against her but instead due to the rift between sun and moon worshipping mortals, preventing the sun-kingdom from ever endorsing her worship.
While she believes mortal lives to be disposable, Ceridwen is very invested in the lives of her chosen few.
A cult has formed in the kingdom of Auberves in Ceridwen's name.

Chevalier is a very devoted follower and a member of Ceridwen's cult following. He is self-interested and uses his worship to gain power, much like the goddess herself; making them an effective pair.
