Akio isn't exactly a law-abiding citizen - he's got a long and muddled history with the local mob. Within the mob he holds a lesser position of power, and unlike most of his family he doesn't seem to want to move up in rank. Akio deeply cares for his fellow "brothers", with whom he's known for being lenient and laid-back , but he isn't afraid to bare his teeth when he needs to. He spends most of his time running an illegal gambling parlor. 

When he's not busy with mob stuff he can usually be found relaxing in his small apartment, drinking cheap beer and trying (but often failing) to take care of the occasional plant or two. He is secretly a big fan of rock music, and attends concerts when he can.
