War.
A being designed for a soul purpose, ED3N was a repair robot for ships. She was not supposed to become attached to her makers, nor her crew of dwarves. Why should she? They wouldn't view her in the same light. They weren't supposed to either, that is. But one did. She wanted to run away from the war that ravaged her homeland and space. She wanted a quiet life. Mother promised to take her there, show her more so her eyes would always dance like stars. But dreams don't come true. Not for products of war.
The ship was attacked, and a dark matter engine ate the ship and ED3N's crewmates. She was the only survivor. With only a damaged escape pod, the robot didn't need air to breathe and survived the fall to the planet below... Alone. The beginning of her years and years alone. She never showed Clementine the universe, and so she lost her desire to see it, too. What came next only darkened the stars more for someone with no reason to look up.

Ashes.
Mother escaped her old life as a robot on the run, and ran headfirst into something just as cruel as the aftermath of any war. But she earned the new title of "Mother", and found beings to care for... Many who died under her care, but not due to her. Due to him. He would not take any more. Mother fled this life with the token child "Viper", fleeing to teach them what it truly means to live— if ED3N can even say she knows what that means, either.

Capture.
Being on the run worked, for a time. Not a long time, if Mother is even capable of processing what a 'long' time means after 500 years... but it was enough to teach Viper how to survive. Viper always looks to Mother for guidance, and the two quickly became a deadly duo. They fought off bounty hunters who sought them for years, but slowly the chase cornered them and both were taken into custody. There, they were forced into a party with two other criminals: Avery the clone, and Adelynn— one of the most wanted criminals in the galaxy due to taking said clone from a galatic leader.
Stuck once more in a fit of quests and chaos, Mother has been exposed to hints of a past she tried to leave behind, and people with ties that are less than savory. With a lot of knowledge under her belt, Mother is often referred to as the leader— especially for Avery and their naively kind acts.. especially towards The Allegiant. The two have very different outlooks on the galaxy, but there's a deep connection and fondness blooming between the two with every new journey. Avery isn't very aware of many of Mother's ongoing struggles, but she likes to keep it that way as much as she can. Trust is strong between them, however, as she has disclosed the void touched arm to her companions— but for now they continue to traverse the galaxy not only in search of money, but also answers.
Some of the most notable quests include their journey to a mothership zoo that not only granted them nearly extinct animals to care for, but was also the place where Viper disclosed their growing hunger. The two learned of its origins while helping a goddess experience about adventuring for an upcoming song performance— that Viper needed to drink godblood now to survive. Mother put her child at risk by taking them out of their transformation into godhood too early, putting them in a place of constant desire for a very hard to come by supply of blood. They've been making limited supplies last, but the news weighs heavily on the machine's mind.
After a traumatic revisit to the planet Mother crashlanded on after a fatal accident with her old crew— Botania —Mother was eager to move on. The party stumbled across many dangers in their travels through the galaxy, like ancient space dragons, but eventually found themselves in a particularly sticky situation between a race being exterminated by the Allegiant, and Avery's loyalty to their nation. Avery was forced to kill a clone of their mother figure to prove their faultering loyalty, in which Mother was asked to watch over Avery by her as a dying wish. Mother swore to, and now has a new addition to her little, complicated family.
To be continued. . .
More to come!
