Story

"You mustn't pry into a lady's personal life and affairs, you know? There are things in life that are not made to be known...~"

The ocean's so vast and wide, you'd never know that there are living beings so similar to humans under there. Ae-Cha hails from these bodies of water, but makes her past extremely difficult to be known, almost as if she doesn't want a deep secret to be made public. At least, not to human beings.

Whenever she's prompted a question about her past, Ae-Cha quickly dismisses it and changes the topic. If you're stubborn enough to get on her nerves, she merely stares at you with her empty eyes and her cheerful facet wears off for a moment. However, she will also pretend such instance never happened, and will go back to her usual self.

Nevertheless, she's always hardworking and cares for everyone else inside the Circus, aiding them with anything they need. She mainly focuses on her job as a nurse and makes sure that everyone is doing well, but also tends to help with other housekeeping tasks.

Trivia

• Although she is of sea-dweller origin, she never speaks her mother tongue with her companions, and does not dare speak it by herself inside the Circus, afraid someone could hear. No one knows why.
• On the same note, she cannot understand Night. She thinks it's another dialect, speech, or maybe a lost language.
• She's motherly to everyone around her, treating them as her own children and pampering them a bit too much.
• She eats so many eggs in her diet that her companions started to compare her to a snake.
• Her entire body produces toxins as a self-defense mechanism. She can control the amount, but it's never zero. If someone startles her with a touch, she might put the person's life at risk. This is why she wears gloves and stockings, alongside tying her hair back.
• She's a dorid nudibranch, AKA sea slug. Like the species, she could be cannibalistic, but it's not like she would admit it.

Night

"I can't understand miss Night, after all~. No matter how much I try, I cannot imagine what she's talking about! Even underwater!... Well, but she is a good child! Even though she dirties the floor, she rips her clothes all the time, she makes a mess of my office, she eats my food, or even that time where she broke my vials... She's still cute at heart, so that's what matters! But she should be more mindful of her tail!"

Jean

"He's like a puppy. A cute one! Although others (aside from my peers) would not think of him as one, he truly is! He's much similar to Night in the aspect of not being able to tell what he's talking about since he only grunts, but he's been learning some words. The other day, he looked at me and said "scary"! Would you not call this adorable?! I only wished he was less afraid of my tentacles, but I presume he will get over it over time. I still dream of petting him and seeing his tail wag in excitement, after all..."

Amalia

"Such a lovely girl. Yes, yes, I adore her greatly! I enjoy very much seeing her presentations, they're always so impressive... I always find myself worried about her, even though I know she's doing okay. I'm a clingy mother, am I not? But I cannot help it. Every time she needs to practice or do her job, I make sure her hands are in fine shape... [sigh] It's such an unfortunate circumstance. Even if someone thinks the opposite, I think they're just as lovely as she is. I care for her."

Beatrice

"Beatrice? She's an impressive girl. She can actually manage those two. I couldn't bear being the one taking care of such energetic children! She's very respectful of others, I admire that in her. I just wished she would stop using me as a mean to make Jean and Night behave... Ah, and I wish she would also stop asking me to speak in my... mother tongue. I know she could understand me. Since she's a Lady herself, she should know that making a woman frown too much makes her develop wrinkles. Oh, but don't take me wrong! I lo~ve her!"
