In this universe she’s Otto Octavius’s [Doc Oc in the other Universes]child.
In this universe his experiments worked[at first] and his octo arms are under his control.
His success allowed him to continue his work and start that same process with other types of animal parts to further advance Mankind.
Now his kid was him and more, she shared Her dads interests, she was a scientist through n mf through n as a duo they were unstoppable. They were very close.
Well since his success he’s been producing other prototypes of other bionic limbs , but he ran into an issue.
Despite his one positive attempt he doesn’t have enough people to test out his other prototypes and without more proof that this is safe and secure to start selling this tech he’s can’t advance, Notlike he can test them *all* on his own.
Seeing her dad hit a wall in his work killed her: she believed in her dad, and wanted to see this idea go far. So she did as any kid would and offered: well she begged rather.
No one was stepping up to have tech drilled into them so she thought: hey, he did it once and when he does it again we can finally get going to bigger things.
Even though he had done it, he wasn’t for letting her do it: at all, it’s a permanent and very *extensive* change.
But with not enough people signing up for months and after lots and lots of begging, he gave in.
After a few weeks she was finally ready to try their dads Prototype: wings, not only that but from one of natures most precise fliers , bionic dragonfly wings. The day before she went in to start the test, she was visiting a neighboring lab and as the story goes: she gets bit, discovers that something is off but brushes to the side bc: today is important!The test had started and all seemed well until: it wasn’t. The thing that made Otto into Doc Oc in every other Universe had welded her wings to her back, and it didn’t only hit her, but her dad as well. Just like most Doc ocs, his Bionic limbs take control of him after the explosion, while her wings are rendered useless for the time being as she has no control of them yet. Unlike his arms,her wings regained no sentients, but being as close to her spine as it was there was no getting rid of them, same went for him.
Over the next few days their dad looses it, all the while she’s discovering her other abilities which she doesn’t dare bring up now.
Eventually Doc Oc goes mad, and against her efforts storms out into the night under his own insanity.
I figure her Wings are pretty useless for a while until she’s able to gain control, but even then it’s but a dark reminder of what’s left of her once sweet father: so they feel horrible using them and often hides them [they retract into her back] she DOES however embrace her spider side and becomes the cities hero while in search of her dad.
Even though she hides her wings in public , her first battle was intense and she ends up using them just enough to win the day: media calls her “Dragonfly” n even though she still is too hurt to use them she embraces the name as a positive way for her dads memory to live on
