tldr: A mimic that has inhereted the general drive and moral compass of a Paladin after a cultish ritual!

The result of a ritual gone wrong. Ideally for a group of cultists their Sunday night would comprise of, capturing 20 or so innocent civilians, killing and sacrificing them in a dark ritual with a cursed blade, strengthening their household mimic to monstrous proportions and releasing it to cause chaos. Really just a test run for what kind of monsters they can make with their newly acquired cursed relic.

Unfortunately, the process would be interrupted by a paladin who'd slaughter most of them and then free all their sacrifices to be. The last of the cultists surviving the massacre and hiding among his dead comrades would jump and catch the paladin when she was off guard, securing at least one sacrifice.

Of course, it wasn't ideal but slowly succumbing to the wounds he'd accrued in the two’s final confrontation, he'd try continuing the ritual anyways hoping one strong human would be worth the weight of the several weaker ones they had. Passing out and dying on the floor he would miss his chance to see the fruits of his labour. The ritual partially successful, gives birth to an “evolved” mimic. One which confused and without purpose, would dawn the deceased paladin’s armour and find its way out of the cultist den. In its travel holding the faint ideals and drives for justice and honour that the paladin previously had held. After trials and tribulations the mimic now lives as "Sutran" the adventurer traversing the world to help the adventurer's guild and more importantly those civilians who contact them.
