Jays had a bit of a rough life. She hatched during the time of the third arc of Wings of Fire. Her father, an unamused male Icewing, and her mother, a fierce female Skywing soldier, weren’t exactly cut out to be parents. It’s not that they hated their daughter, they just weren’t very caring, and didn’t know how to deal with such a young dragon. She mainly grew up in Possibility, but travelled to both the Sky and Ice Kingdoms occasionally.
She left home to travel and live on her own at 5 years old (approx 15 in human years), with her parents permission. Everyone in Possibility seemed too preoccupied with their own lives and families to take her in, so she travelled along the mountains, hunting and sleeping wherever she could for a couple years. One day she met Lumi, a young Seawing/Nightwing hybrid, who is apparently on the run from something or someone. Jay took an immediate dislike to her, annoyed by her energetic and teasing personality. However, as annoying as Lumi was, she was the first dragon to stick by Jay’s side. As days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into moons, Jay developed feelings for the other dragon. Jay is not pleased by this, but Lumi definitely is.
