Woe

usually referred to as "Woe of the Halls" but that's quite a mouthful  so it's shortened to The Woe or just Woe when mentioned more than once

sort  of a cryptid in the pits; used to be a frightening threat to pretty  much everyone around her until aphrasiac had enough of the hundreds of  complaints about her and split her soul into small pieces that are now  sought after like artifacts and occasionally used as energy cores. now  she merely wanders, unable to project her physical form.

she  guides jamie through the pits in his subsequent visits, although he has  to return her a few shards of her soul in exchange for the help every  time.
