One half of his nose is darker than the other. He has unnerving, pale blue eyes and sports scars on his left cheek.

  • undereye markings optional
  • scars on cheek not optional
  • scars should catch the eye of the viewer
  • neck fur NEEDS to point upwards and resemble a fire
Personality

Risingblaze presents himself as an honour-bound cat who follows his own moral compass as opposed to going with general perception and worrying about the views of others. Still, he has shown himself to be loyal and righteous, albeit a bit arrogant and blunt in his interactions with others. He’s more “down-to-earth” than he is “head in the clouds” and prefers to act with logic rather than with emotion.

History

Risingblaze was born as Blaze into a small group of nomads consisting of his parents and two older sisters. His father, a huge and intimidating cat with a pelt as black as the night and eyes in a chilling blue hue, was the group’s protector and the one who taught his kits to defend themselves since a young age. The overall unwelcoming appearance lent him the name Darkness. His mother, named Sun for her stunning orange fur fading into red, mostly took care of providing food for the family, gathering and hunting all that was available to them. By the time Blaze reached adulthood, the daily training has made him an excellent fighter and he has gladly sworn his life to defending his kin.

“Remember,” Darkness said as they sat under the stars together one night. “The one thing that lends us strength is the trust we have in each other. We’re loyal to our kin; loyalty keeps us together.” He listened to his father, he followed his teachings, lived them even.

So, when one of his older sisters, Shadow, introduced an outsider to the family, he was skeptical and wary of the stranger, as was his father. They introduced themself as Monarch, a lonesome nomad roaming the territory and migrating from one place to another ever so often. The family kept them at a distance, treating them as an outsider with Shadow as the only member interacting with them. Monarch was an odd cat; black with gold swirls mixed into their pelt pattern and sporting a snaggletooth. Their sharp eyes were weird to look into, and the way they carried themselves was just as strange as their appearance. No one else ever warmed up to them, not even his other sister Dusk who had always been exceptionally close with her littermate. Or Sun who has been protective of all her kits since day one. Blaze took his father’s advice to observe the stranger and his sister to heart and found them sitting by each other awfully close one night. A flurry of emotions told him to confront them, to tear his dear sister away from the feline who was stealing her away from her kin. However, he decided it was best to report the incident to his father. Needless to say, he wasn’t pleased and argued with his daughter the following morning. He was there, stood right by the towering form of the black tom. Shadow didn’t exchange another word with either of them for several days, shooting her brother glares every now and then.

Everything took a turn for the worse when Monarch announced their departure and Shadow insisted on coming along. Darkness, enraged by the idea of his daughter leaving the family behind, held her back and ordered the outsider to leave immediately. Shadow, whose own rage and bottled up frustration for her family’s treatment for the lone nomad overcame her in the heat of the moment, struck out and clawed away at her father’s face. Blaze wasted not a single heartbeat before he was tackling his sister to the ground. A set of sharp teeth sunk into his neck, pried him off and tossed him to the floor. A large, black paw pinned him, a pair of oddly shaped eyes looked right into his pale blue ones. He attempted to kick away the gold and black feline, though he was quick to discover that their huge form was just to heavy to lift. Just when Monarch was about to strike him the same way Shadow had done to their father, they were lifted away from them and their claws only hit their cheek. Two distinct pelts rolled and tangled with each other until Darkness came out victorious. He once again ordered them to leave, this time along with his daughter, and threatened to kill them if they didn’t.

The two left and Blaze never saw them again after that. The whole event left the rest of the family disheartened and grieving over the loss. They treated his sister as deceased. Sun didn’t take the loss well; her whole personality shifted from sweet and kind-hearted to bitter and distant. She began to lash out at all of them until she ultimately sealed her own fate by relentlessly attacking her mate and blaming him for how everything unfolded. Blaze aided his father who sustained a wound so great, it left him incapacitated. He saw himself forced to kill his own mother. Darkness, slowly dying of his own wound, spoke his last words to his two remaining kits, “Loyalty was what kept us strong, disloyalty was what tore us apart. Always remember that, you two.”

Now, with the blood of his kin tainting his paws, he consulted his only kin left. Dusk thought it best to split up, clearly disturbed by what she has just witnessed. “I’m afraid of ending up like this. Like you. Killing the only family I have left. We cannot let us get in the way of the other.”

Thus, at the age of 19 moons, Blaze split from his last remaining kin and left behind the only life he has known up until this point, striking up a path of struggle and fighting for his life, only to later find the big nomad group that would later split into the five packs. He joined the Marsh' Pack as one of their hunters and took on the name Risingblaze, laying down his old life with this. On his left cheek he bore the scars of a past he'd much rather forget.

Relationships

Father †
image.png

"I loved him dearly. He has shaped me to be the cat I am today, and I treasure my memories with him. I remember we used to sit and talk under the stars; he'd tell me stories of his travels when he was still a wandering nomad. He taught me to fight, told to keep the ones I loved close to me and to always stay true to them. If only he had lived through my mother's attack..."

Sun

Mother †
image.png

"She was a wonderful mother before Shadow left. Sweet, wise, loving, kind and compassionate. She was the one who taught me how to hunt, where to look for water and where to find food when prey becomes scarce. I hate to live with her blood tainting my paws. She shouldn't have met her end like that — to be killed by her own son."

Sister

"She was the eldest and Dusk and I often came to her for advice when our parents were unavailable. I used to love her. Then she brought that flea-bitten stranger along. I figured they were in love, and that Shadow abandon her kin for them. Sometimes I wonder if she's still alive and somewhere out there. If so, she's probably with Monarch..."

Sister

"The last of my kin I have left and I have no idea where she is now. She was a lot like our mother, both in appearance and behaviour. It hurt when she told me she was afraid of ending up like me. She must think of me as a monster for killing our mother. I hope she's alright."
