My favorite dream character I remembered enough of to draw when I woke up! 

As a species in general they're named Sclereye because of their prominent floating eye(s) and colored sclera.

When a star is born, a Sclereye is created from the darkness around it. The star and its Sclereye are permanent companions.

Individual distinctions for this Sclereye:

- yellow sclera

- one floating eyeball

- it's wooden terrarium has one wall being glass. 

- pretty calm and patient

Overarching species traits:

- floating eye(s) in front of the face

- bodies are black and inky, like a fluid shadow

- a glowing, spherical tail tip that emanates a warm glow. often shifts forms when moods change/escalate

- they can dis/reappear at will

- they enjoy humidity. Their favorite respite is their personal little terrariums.

- cat-like (it's the popular "default" form, but some deviate)
