GR-89 used to be excellent Ghostrunner among his team - despite being a little bit of "bites more than can chew" type of a guy he always emerged successful, despite everything that was thrown at him. He was a skilled warrior, wielding a slightly longer and heavier variant of TsuruGR "Void Dragon". During one of his missions he completely disappeared without a trace, currently his status is shown as "MIA"
He was captured and experimented on by a group of cyber cultists, where most of the aforementioned "experiments" revolved around causing him pain and testing his resistance. However it wasn't just purely tortures, he was actually modified into something much more deadly. Reprogrammed to act much more agressive, overloading his systems and completely getting rid of the killswitch were one of many mods he has been through. But the most drastic change was the one that turned him into... something akin to a vampire. Powered by bloodlust, equipped with sharp, retractable claws and elongated canines to draw blood. Due to the changes in the programming he was also prone to cyberpsychosis-like attacks.
Now he has escaped his tormentors, driven by bloodlust he kills - no matter if it's one of his kin, or a machine, or a human - he lashes out all those years he has suffered. Though sometimes he regains his sanity, silently mourning the loss of his squadmates and reflecting on his past. He would love to return to his old life, but he's fully aware that he has gone too far.
