Phyllis is a bit of an eccentric sort, missing lots of social cues, she's very prone to being forthright and stubborn. This unfortunately makes it hard to make friends, couple that with her special interest in an obscure series with a fairy as the lead, people generally aren't that interested in her.
She's definitely the type to try her best at things she does, and if the thing she's doing is making friends, then she'll put her all into it... And hopefully not neglect her responsibilities in the process.

Phyllis works at a local community garden that does a lot of organizing for social justice. She's not really that absorbed in the political sphere, but likes helping out in the garden. She lives in a co-op with some of the organizers, but is usually the person people don't talk to, partially because of her awkwardness, and partially due to her uninvolvement with politics. There's always drama going on at home, but she's never in on what its about.
