Nephraun

The god of a river. On one night every year, he descends through the river guided by a swarm of fireflies and the lamplights the nearby villages leave at the banks.

One year, a powerful storm disturbed his descent, and only one light showed up to guide him. When the light faded, he found a dying firefly at the foot of a lamp. As an act of gratitude, he revived the firefly by tying her soul to the lamp, and blessing her with his powers so their light would shine forever.
