Basic backstory:
Kjöt was found as a hatchling by an order of knights who follow the goddess of justice. The Order of the Dawnblades took pity on the young lizardfolk, taking him under their wing and raising him as though he were family. Growing up alongside these knights, Kjöt was instilled with a strong sense of duty, honor, and justice. As soon as he was an adult, he begged the knights to mentor him as a new member of their Order. As a new member of this Order, Kjöt took the surname Dawnblade, after his new family. To this day, Kjöt wields the symbol of the Dawnblades as he travels the region, fighting for those who cannot defend themselves.
