Elias

Elias is librarian located at To-Oh University, a seperate building but very much in the same premises as the school. The main patrons being those who attend the university along with fellow professors of course, however Elias himself has allowed those who are not technically from To-Oh to sit in and study. He has a firm belief that everyone deserves an education and free access to knowledge and written literature, fiction or otherwise. As long as they return books in on time and do not make much of a mess, he does not mind. Elias runs things by himself apart from some students helping out here and there as he is very particular and detail oriented, even working after hours just so everything is where it could be in his own personal, organized way. If anything, the building is like a second home to him considering how much time he spends doing jus that: Checking all the books statuses twice over until satisfied. It may seem trivial or even intense to those that perceive Elias, but to him it is simply second nature. Some joy was surely to be found through out his endeavours too, despite the foundation-covered eyebags upon his face.

Elias as a person however is not as well known compared to his beloved work, being diagnosed with dissociative amnesia had (or has, rather) made navigating life more complicated than he would've desired. Although not at all socially inept he does feel alienated in the social scene, not having any recollection of his 'prime years' amongst a lot of other core memories that could potentionally help with truly connecting with others has hindered the libarian to be quite the lonely person. He manages to fulfill his needs by getting sucked into a new book or re-reading the classics, to cleaning, to even picking up miscellaneous hobbies such as wood carving. Other than that he quite enjoys cooking, whenever available. Anything that's able to preoccupy his brain seems to keep any unsavoury feelings at bay but deep down, Elias knows he cannot continue like this forever.

Personality wise Elias very well spoken albeit his soft tone, making it very easy for him to get lost in conversation (or thought, given his lack of contacts.) until the early hours of the morning as he's the type to appreciate each and every sentence exchanged. He's usually seen wearing a gentle, soft smile with a demeanor that never seems to waver even in fast-paced or escalating situations. Elias is able to compose himself without any issue whether it's because of how he's lived for a long while now, or because his nerves are simply shot or numbed from past experiences long forgotten. That could all one day change, however. Other than how he holds himself the librarian is driven by kindness and patience, wanting to see others grow, success, and to let them know they're enough. If it weren't for his current occupation he'd make a pretty good counsellor amongst the students seeing as how strict To-Oh university's requirements are, he's not surprised how many have succumbed to spiraling from stress alone.

News spreads fast so word of the Kira killings reached Elias pretty early on but even if it didn't, experiencing one of the older professors clutch his chest in pain before collpasing would've done the trick. Alas, the librarian knew priorly of the serial murderer and his ways of executing his victims so upon witnessing something like that with his own eyes only hardened Elia's resolve. He had kept a notebook detailing his findings and personal experiences to those passed due to Kira's actions, almost like a new hobby he had picked up to distract himself from his own inner problems. Calling it a 'hobby' felt insensitive, though. Elias knew this and heknew he couldn't keep avoiding his deeply rooted troubles... but perhaps the librarian was selfish in that regard.
