What Isolas Knows

Isolas is under the impression he is in his mid-twenties. He does not know his exact age. He was owned by a powerful Sorcerer and was kept in his palace as a prized pet. He is called either by his name or "The Statue." He has lived in the palace his entire life, and has never seen the outside world except through fleeting glances out hallway windows. His main dwelling is a gilded cage in his master's study. He would often sing/play violin for his master while he studied. His own lo-fi beats to study to, if you will. On occasion, Isolas was allowed to exit said cage and walk past the pretty outside windows to the ballroom where he would preform for his master's esteemed guests. (Many were under the impression he was just a VERY well animated statue while others knew he was not and simply didn't care.) There was a circle on the stage he was to stand in, and he was physically unable to leave it. He was unable to deny direct commands given to him. On his neck was a golden collar, which was what kept him bound to his circle/cage among other things.

Like in a museum, you do not touch the fine art. Isolas was not permitted to touch others, and they could not touch him. If they did, they would receive a painful magical shock. It's a bit of a lonely life, but it could be worse, right? When his master was not in the room, Isolas was occasionally able to use some nimble fingers or his tail to grab books off of the shelf or his master's desk. Due to this, he has a very good knowledge of various random things. Due to some magical influence, he also has no need to eat, sleep, or use any bodily functions. Statues don't do that, silly! He also has a very dulled sense of feeling/emotion in general, which helps keep him calm and ready to preform at all times.

What Isolas Does Not Know

Isolas was formerly known as Sonnet. An aspiring musician who would travel to different taverns and venues to preform for others. He has fair blue skin and dark, piercing eyes. He was known for his emotionally moving poetry that he turned into soulful melodies. Though occasionally he would throw in a couple more upbeat numbers as well. A powerful sorceress became obsessed with him, and pursued him. While he tried his best to gently let her down, she was relentless. Unfortunately for him, giving her a firm and concrete "no" would lead to the end of him as he knew himself. In a fit of rage, she had him kidnapped and brought to her, where she completely wiped his memory and turned him into what he is today. Now, he would perform for her, and her only. He's been passed down through her family as an heirloom for generations, his memory being freshly wiped each time. The changes to his physical appearance are permanent, though the magic keeping him more complacent and dulling his senses is tied to the collar. If it were to be say, forcefully removed, he would begin to age normally, gain bodily functions, the ability to touch and be touched, and his full range of emotions again.

Isolas Now

During a breach of the palace by some very angry townspeople finally sick of the sorcerer's family's grip on the town the lorded over, he was taken (Or looted, in their eyes). Of course, they had no in depth knowledge of the magic behind Isolas, and such really did think him to be a magic statue that was just REALLY convincing. However that collar on him was making things complicated, so it was not so nicely removed which left a really nasty scar. (What crazy magic to have a statue seem to have real skin and bone!) With the removal of the collar came a flood of emotion and feeling which was..... a lot. Especially when you're stuck in a cage for sale to whoever may come along. However, luckily for him some his new best friends are gonna come get him out after some convincing that he is a real boy. Whoever his new friends are, he will be fiercely loyal to, and very eager to please. He tries his best to be upbeat and optimistic, because he hates feeling bad feelings. If he can just pretend they're not there sometimes they go away!

Absolutely fascinated by the world he was never able to see, he has a tendency to want to touch and see EVERYTHING. He's quite the perceptive little guy, though, so sometimes it pays off. Other times he's just annoying. He sometimes has a hard time dealing with this new flood of emotions and sensation, and can get easily overwhelmed. He especially has problems with bad textures - mainly clothes. He prefers silk and soft cloth, and HATES restrictive clothing. He loves robes, but they must have a slit for his tail, as he hates things sitting on it too heavily. He has a tendency to think first and find out later, and is usually motivated by the thing that would be the most fun or pleasurable. He is, however, easily convinced by those close to him. A double edged sword depending on the alignment of whoever he finds himself attached to.

He loves his worn violin, and actually likes that the paint is chipped. After years of being perfect, he finds the imperfections charming. He also LOVES his two scars, which to him symbolize the fact that he is no longer his master's favorite decoration. He loves nothing more than to preform for others and see them laugh and cheer for him. He's the master of off color jokes in improper times. His tail, while not prehensile, is very nimble and is known to grab things not nailed down, just like his sticky little fingers. Now that he can sleep, he occasionally has dreams of blurred faces and places he has never seen before. What could those be about?

• Isolas LOVES robes. However they MUST have a slot cut out of them for his tail, or he gets annoyed at the feeling of fabric on it.
• Isolas is extremely picky about textures, and is prone to getting agitated/overwhelmed if the clothing he is wearing has a weird feeling
