The shell of the egg warmed as the presence of the stitched pony came closer. He was just there on the off chance that the egg might respond to what little magic he had within himself, but the pony was shocked and fell back when the shell of the egg practically exploded. The little green dragon sat where the egg had been, the remains of the shell on his spikes, shoulder, and under his little frame. He grabbed the shell from his shoulder and looked up with his purple gradient eyes.

"Are you my mother?" he asked the purple pony, not knowing that males couldn't lay the eggs, completely innocent in the world as he had just hatched. The purple pony laughed and shook his head.

"I am the one who will be taking care of you, though, child. You will be the sole reason I keep existing in this world." Octure explained to the newly hatched dragon before taking him out of the cavern, leaving behind the other egg, the one that hadn't responded to the presence of its owner.
