Desperation

Desperation is an artificial created by an air witch.
He was created as a tool for the Goddess Cassandra to use, in the image of her son, Alex.
He was given the mission to distract the incarnations of Alura so the she wouldn't end up with Alex and Cassandra wouldn't have to kill them again.
(Alura and Alex's story is pretty complicated, it will be fully mentioned in their profiles. I'll just say they are gods that souls are currently mortal, Cassandra wants her son all to herself and wants Alura out of the picture)

Desperation hopes that if he does a good job he will gets mother's approval.

He becomes attached to Alura despite never being able to keep her for himself, she always chooses Alex over him.
He is horrified when he discovers that even if he gets Alura to pick him Cassandra wants to kill her anyway. She just doesn't want Alex jumping in the way like he always does.

Discovering himself to just be a tool for his mother's twisted schemes and that she never would accept him as her son he runs away.
He ends up meeting Sorrow, another of his kind and he joins her mission to make their souls real. They end up falling in love.
