Brian Raynolds

Born as son of Captain Arthur Reynolds, Brian had been assumed to go into command after his graduation from the Academy. The young man however was far more interested in the science department. Going into biochemistry, he had his first assignment on USS Diogenes. The story of the Diogenes is not a happy one, the ship was raided and destroyed by a small fleet of unknown assailants, with Brian being one of the few survivors. He was left with a slight sense of paranoia unable to work without noise and being very jumpy when doors open without warning.
