Their communications have long been cut off from their communications arrays being overgrown and rundown. But before they were cut off they acted as the group 'parent' for the younger iterators. Once their communications were cut off they began raising scugs to continue talking with pearls. That's how things have been since. They are, and always have been sweet in personality. Caring to no end.
