jealous of her because his mother's spent way more time with her than him. doesnt care that her treatment with his mother is subpar/experimental/dehumanizing because he's a kid -- he just knows it as unfair that his mom'll never look his way as long as soy's around
understands his jealousy and doesnt fault him. if anything, she tries to casually give him mom flack on behalf of him and basically defend mint. because of her lackadaisical nature and seeming inability to stop grinning/cracking jokes, he doesnt take her seriously. she never lets him know she cares either, choosing to keep things at an arms length but she does put in the work behind the scenes to stand up for him
