Backstory:

These two were rogue gods and were forced to merge to create Meredith. They were married before they gave their lives to create Meredith which technically means Merry is their daughter, Meredith was cursed to be haunted by the victims of her parents thus causing them to live inside of her and creating what she calls the dead system. After Meredith died, her soul split and freed her parents. Meredith still exists and spends her time in the lab whilst her parents help around Calaro.
