Blue Topaz

Blue Topaz .

Blue Topaz lives in SU-2015, a dimension set in the world of Steven Universe. 

She was an experimental gem constructed late in the war to counter Rose Quartz's healing abilities. Fortunately for Blue Diamond, the first kindergarten gems of a blue topaz's cut were successfully out and running, with healing capabilities not as strong as Rose's, but strong enough to be recognised as an unimaginable asset. However, only a few of them were able to emerge, since these gems required very precise and specific circumstances to be made; Blue was able to create only a handful of them, no less than 15. She had no choice but follow Yellow's orders and scatter them all across the battlefield.

Young Topaz remembers summoning her staff and coming closer to hundreds of warriors, wounded and cracked from the fight. The ones who remember her will note her staff as a symbol of hope. "Help is on the way", she'd say with a warm smile and who could lose faith with such a compassionate ally on their side?

...The war wasn't kind to her, to any of them. Since Blue Topazes were designed to heal, they were completely incapable of fighting or defending themselves. And although while paired with an Agate, Jasper or Yellow Topaz they could be unstoppable, all of them were hunted by the Crystal Gems and isolated from their comrades. It would be a difficult task, but the opposing side was able to shatter 14 of them, with one more left to go.

Blue Topaz tried to calm her breathing, having resorted to hiding underwater... she wasn't good at running fast speeds, but she wasn't great at swimming either. She felt her chaser approach her... "Hopeless", she thought and made her last efforts to escape by scrambling to swim to the surface, helpless. She hoped for a miracle. Suddenly, she looked to the sky, distorted by the layers of water as a bright triad of lights, white yellow and blue, overshadowed everything else she could see. She was sure her foe had perished in that magnificent show of power but... everything felt strange... and she felt herself fade.

Waking up from that didn't give her any more insight. Her body felt different, her brain was hazy and it was difficult to construct sentences, let alone words. Turning back, she could make out a horrifying creature - of kinds she'd never seen before - trying to approach her. She grunted and swam off... never to be seen again - at least, not for a long while.

• If she ever met Hemi, she would give her the nickname Blueberry, Tabitha?? Probably Tabitha.
• She was my initial gemsona that I completely forgot about— help.
• She had no backstory at all, so I just made one and I really like it!
