Sheltered as a kid due to an unknown sickness, Cieul has grown into a moderately petulant and easily bored adult who was rarely allowed outside castle walls. Despite being "first in line" to the throne of the kingdom of Maisucree, he was denied a rite of passage that would allow him to take control after the King would pass away. Upset and frustrated at the vicious cycle of being coddled and feeling helpless, Cieul eventually enlisted the help of his most loyal maid, Foster, to assist his escape from the kingdom. Due to somewhat unfortunate circumstances, he masquerades as a female server at the Shipwheel Bar named "Lucie Stirs".
