Profile

Bertha (BBC cartoon, '85) FC

Name - Amelia Catherine Bonniwell
Age - 25
DOB - February 28 (Pisces)
Gender - Female (cis, she/her)
Hometown - London, England
Height - 5’5 (165.1 cm)
Orientation - big lesbian!
Occupation - Mechanic
Languages - English
Likes - Being around the ones she loves, keeping busy, working on the machines
Dislikes - Being underappreciated, being yelled at, being alone

Personality/Details - Creative, imaginative and thinks outside the box. Very empathetic, compassionate, and sensitive to others’ feelings. She’s an anxious, soft-spoken person and doesn’t like change. She can be air-headed or forgetful at times. She's not a good multi-tasker, and often gets absorbed in the work she's doing. When she isn't entirely focused, she can get distracted easily.

She was hired in her early 20's as the factory desperately needed a mechanic. She was not told in advance that the main machine was sentient... but she manages to adapt and stay hired despite the shock.

After a long while of working on Bertha, Amelia learns to understand her "language" (she speaks in Morse codes,) and the factory staff often need her aid in translating if something goes wrong with her. She is one of the two people in the factory that can understand her (the other is Ted, who is Bertha's main operator.) She and Bertha often converse while the two are working, though to most of the others it sounds rather one-sided. Nevertheless, they're happy to be able to bridge the gap between the humans and the machines on the floor.

She feels incredibly lucky to have such good friends otherwise. She very much enjoys her job even when she isn't working on Bertha, and still finds interest in the inner workings of the factory's non-sentient machines.
