selectively mute and hailing from far from lunerest , hiemal may seem intimidating at first glance . . however , they are kind at heart and hold only good intentions , if not . . rather socially awkward , due to its upbringing without xyn companions .

hiemal was born in a distant place to traveling parents , raised and then left to set out on its own . only aware of lunerest through stories . . torn between wanderlust and their desire to be around others . . they explore the universe around lunerest until they began to notice an ebb in their magic . remembering the warning to beware of becoming fallen , it finally then makes the decision to travel to lunerest to settle .

knowing no one and nothing there , without friends or known family , hiemal was uncertain what to do with itself . . until they caught word of a royal guard , of knights who protected the land . intrigued by this idea , by this oppurtunity to find its place amoung the lunerestians , hiemal joined the royal knights-in-training .

loyal and kind , displaying their heart through their actions , discovering a passion for helping others . its biggest fault is honesty -- honesty to the point of being blunt , not out of rude intentions but rather out of a desire to speak the truth of their heart and mind , as well as an ignorance to certain things that may be considered impolite or offensive ( again , due to being raised away from a society ) . however , despite their quiet demeanor , its softness and loyalty will always show through . they're willing to do anything in their power to protect and help others
