Hailgaze was born into FlowerClan. He was often talked down to or blatantly ignored by his peers who think he is a burden. When he reached apprenticeship age, Harveststar saw potential in him and gave him a mentor. However, due to ineffective communication on the part of his mentor, his apprenticeship took much longer than usual. When he was finally made a warrior, he would still often be left behind instead of being sent on patrols. He generally ends up helping around the camp in small ways, like helping gather herbs and checking in on the queens and their kits.

TRIVIA
He can speak, as deaf cats can still meow. He does have a deaf accent though, and can't control his tone and volume very well.
He communicates with other cats using body language, lipreading, and context.
