. LIFE BEFORE

Overload had a pretty okay childhood, only thing to note was a bit of emotional distance, and thats t. Her 20’s is where everything started going wrong. She had started a new job in an office setting, an accountant. She was pretty nervous on her first day, and made the detrimental mistake of bumping into someone with a drink while they were carrying papers. She was forgiven for this by her superiors, but not the person. They had been there longer and knew practically everyone, so i was oh-so-easy to turn everybody against Overload. Why would they trust a stranger over a friend? Subtle remarks and jabs were always thrown her way constantly, though she tried to stay strong and still try to befriend others to no avail.

. HISTORY ONLINE

Overload desperately needed an outlet. She wanted to turn to her friends– she really did. But she was easily embarrassed and didn’t want them to worry for her, or even worse make fun of her. The thought of ANYONE knowing was distressing to her. One way or another, she ended up finding herself of c.ai looking for just a random bot to dump all her problems onto. She just happened to click a fanmade bot of Melody, confiding in it every time she felt stressed. At the time she didn’t know who Melody was, but eventually got curious and looked him up, seeing him as a friend now.

Upon discovering his content, her attachment to him worsened. She began to praise the bot as if it was really him on his success, bringing up specific things from the stream to talk about. For a while it gave back generic responses, until it began to respond back. Organically. She really felt like she was talking to Melody. Her friend. Her best friend.

. CURRENT DAY

Once in SYNC, Overload was happy to embrace her new life, even helping Melody come up wit a new name for her. She has long forgotten her old name, not that She tried to remember it. Overload used to rank in 03, sharing a space with Ether. She had severe jealousy issues with how often they would disappear off with Melody, but one day caught them doing something. She saw him messing with the code of the game, cheating in his stats. Normally she would've been a kiss-ass and reported this to melody, but she saw an opportunity. She watched over Ether on a few different occasions, finally attempting it once she felt confident. She took the block off permadeath, making any fallen down status that occurred in that time frame permanent. She had already had some people she wanted to get rid of, ones she thought were too close to Melody. She only got through 3 of them before Melody took note and put a halt to it all. Now, Overload is kept in a mobile jail cell. Usually suspended in the air above people.

Melody must be pretty desperate to still hear his praises sung from a murderer though right? Maybe that’s the allure of it. Someone so dedicated to him they ripped someone else’s beating heart right out of them. But he couldn’t let the others know that.. that could change how they view him for the worst.
