There's an old lighthouse that still worked despite not having a keeper in years. Some say that a sea monster claimed it.
...Yeah, Podunk has... A sea monster problem, and they aren't sure how to stop the cosmic tentacle monsters from crawling out of the sea and just claiming something. For Major, who is the second one by the way, it was the lighthouse, which he occasionally once every blue moon uses to lure seafarers in to have as a meal.
Nobody has seen him without the captain disguise and survived, so it's widely accepted that you should leave him alone in that regard and you'll be fine.

His relation to Margo is not exactly known... They have very similar appearances and a want to conceal a "true identity", but they claim to not know eachother.
