Quinn is a biologist working with a field research team for Area Zero. He teaches part time at Naranja Academy about the importance of conservation and respect towards Paldea's wildlife alongside Jacq.
He himself is an alumni. His main focus is dispelling rumors surrounding the Great Crater of Paldea and what lies within, and how important it is to give wild pokemon a home, even if dangerous.
Quinn is very social and talkative but has a tendency to be shy & easily flustered. He tends to ramble on & is not always the best at conversation, but is very smart.
Despite his shyness, he is a very good public speaker & flourishes in social settings. He is very easy-going and adaptable but struggles with sudden, unplanned change.
Born in Galar, he lived here until 18. His mother is Galarian & his father is Paldean. While a young teen, he completed the gym challenge, but quickly learned that was not the path he wanted to pursue. Him and his parents are estranged. When he moved away, he initially settled in Artazon to attend the academy with a focus on biological sciences & battle studies. He attended for two years before graduating and accepting a field research position, where he works now. During his time at Naranja Academy, he was given the chance to study coastal ecology in Alola, where he meets his two additional teammates.
Once graduating, he relocated to an apartment in East Medali to be closer to the Zero Gate. His team has an office in the city.Now in his 20s, he spends much of his time hiking and exploring the region he calls home. He spends lots of time around Casseroya Lake & Socarrat Trail. Sitting by the waterside or coast, he sketches the world around him and specializes in anatomy studies, which he uses in his lectures.
Quinn is 5"7' (170.18) and clocks around 105-110 lbs. He is thin with long legs. His hair is short, brown & wavy with a long top. He has an astigmatism & wears glasses. He has freckles along his cheeks and body. He has a silver bar on his left ear (helix) & a silver cuff on his left first lobe. He has bilateral incision scars on his chest from a double mastectomy. He struggles with a variety of mental health issues as well as neurodivergency.

Linnaeus is his ace pokemon and main companion. He is his childhood pokemon which he evolved from an Eevee and has traveled with him from Galar to Paldea. He is frequently out of his pokeball and keeps Quinn company on walks. He enjoys battling.
Ulmus was found as a young Rowlet abandoned on Route One of Melemele Island in Alola. He was found during a research trip Quinn attended while a student at Naranja Academy. He is very territorial and had spats with Larry's Staraptor for quite some time. He takes a serious approach to battling.
Found as a young, anxious Wimpod during the same research trip. He found safety near Quinn as he was beachcombing. Despite his size, he is still anxious, but slowly gaining confidence. Doesn't like battling or fighting.
Starting out as a very slow burn between both parties, Quinn buries his feelings for a long time, under the impression of them not being reciprocated in the slightest. He is later urged by Rika to take the step forward, and the two begin a routine of meeting for lunch and/or dinner. Over a period of time, the two struggle to hide their feelings more and more, before the older man confessed during an evening night out.
Both men have had tumultuous love lives, and struggle with their words. Quinn has trouble accepting his feelings, while Larry loves too hard. Once the two come to terms with one another, it was smooth sailing. As their relationship progresses, they end up sharing an apartment. Due to their jobs, occasionally they are ships passing, but they don't mind. Larry worries for his boyfriend's safety sometimes, but hides it very well. Quinn does his best to teach him and fill him in on his research.
