Mysterious, ominous, foreboding. A culmination of tropes: black hat, mysterious stranger, death personified, agent of hell who can kill you but is more curious about seeing what happens next. While some interpret him as a sign of the end of times or great disaster, he's appeared to others as merely an odd stranger who through subtle intervention, changes the course of their life - for better or worse. Ominous and divine, he's a ghost, he's a god, he's a man, he's a guru.

Associated with oncoming storms, dry lightning, static ringing in ears, distorted voices over the radio, the smell of ozone, burning metal, rain and petrichor, railroad tracks, crossroads, edges of town, recurring dreams, undefined fate.

Design notes: Only right palm is red, face and end points of body always in shadow. Eye colour varies but is always bright though. Can be drawn in a dusty black coat, and feet can optionally be drawn as clawed paws not boots. Fur is typically spiky, though not unkept, and face subtly scruffy.
