Adrienne

Adrienne is a turkey vulture able to switch back and forth from bird to human. He has lots of piercings on his ears and very long hair that is red on top and black underneath. He has brown eyes.

Adrienne's species are strictly birds till around 18 and then they're able to transform back and forth. He does briefly go visit a human village where he meets someone who is working as a fortune teller though he isn't very good. They become fast friends and soon Adrienne is going into the village just to see him every day. They start dating and it's good for a long time. Adrienne stays around humans so much he doesn't go back to visit the woods much for a long time, something his family begs him to come do more often because being around humans only leads to sadness. But he continues to anyways, having a full life with this man he fell in love with until slowly, the man grows weaker. One day his legs give out on him and he falls, Adrienne bandages him up and takes him inside and while he's laying there, he asks Adrienne if he thinks they'll see each other again someday when they both die and adrienne promises they'll reunite when that happens, though the man doesn't say that he doubt that, he just smiles and adrienne smiles back to reassure one another. The man dies the next day. Adrienne stays with him for a while but the fresh corpse is tempting and as much as he loves him he wouldn't forgive himself if he ate him so he leaves. He has a bit of trouble turning back into a vulture for the first time in a long while but he does. He goes back to the forest and talks to his family about how their species dies and it's then that he learns he is essentially not going to die. So he leaves again, planning to kill himself somehow to be with the man again but every time there's an image in his mind of the rotten corpses he's eaten in the past and as upset as he is he couldn't bring himself to the idea that having his family eat him would be good (because I'm slightly worldbuilding by saying that's how his species has a funeral is they eat the corpse of the one who died to carry them with them) It scares him so much to imagine dying and rotting so he gives up. Which then makes him feel even more like he betrayed the man he loved because he'll never see him again. He's too terrified to die and he didn't eat even a piece of him so he didn't even do that part. Now he's too scared to go home and face his family again and he can't bring himself to see the man's grave or go back to the home they had.

He eventually falls in love with Taavi and is able to reconcile the idea of death due to his new boyfriend being dead.
