Jack was born to a very sickly single mother who passed shortly after his birth. With no father on his records and no next of kin able to take him in he was placed into the foster system as an infant. He bounced around homes often as a kid for various reasons ranging from unfit foster parents to picking fights with the other children. Jack learned to fend for himself at an early age, not having many people to support him. Moving around a lot made keeping friends nearly impossible, the only constant being the social worker who was assigned to Jack. As she was also a werewolf she took it upon herself to teach Jack about his powers and making sure he received suppressants when old enough.

Around his 13th birthday Jack had been in his longest placement with a middle aged couple who had adopted 3 kids before him. Things had been good at home and he’d grown attached to the family, feeling that they might actually adopt him. School however was a different story. The neighborhood had been mostly non-occult, Jack being the only werewolf in his class. Needless to say the bullying was never ending; what started out as name calling led to kids getting physical but Jack held back, not wanting to hurt anyone or ruin his chances with the foster placement. The bullying only escalated further until Jack snapped and fought back, one of the bullies ripping his ear in the process. His caretakers were terrified after being called to the school, begging the state to take him back out of fear he’d get violent with them. His social worker complied, bringing him back to a group home that cared for troubled kids and warned him about the mark this would leave on his record.

Having given up on the chance of being adopted Jack grew bitter and resentful at his circumstances, withdrawing from any real connection with others. Once again his social worker came in as mentor, helping him work through his anger in a healthy way. After a year or so he began paying it forward, looking out for other kids and being a brotherly figure to most of them. He’d been 15 when a strange girl not much younger than him had been brought to the home. She was always seen with a raggedy plush bunny and would often have outbursts about hearing strange noises or seeing spirits but Jack thought she’d just been through a lot. One day she seemed particularly agitated and approached him, begging for him to get help and avoid the stairwells. Something about her seemed more off than usual and after pushing the caretakers to investigate they found that one of the pipes in a locked storage closet under the stairs had leaked on a wood support beam and rotted it. The stairwell did collapse later that evening but thanks to this girl no one was severely injured. Jack questioned her after the incident, deciding to keep a close eye on her.

Over the years as others moved in and out the two grew close and Jack began to think of her as family. When he eventually aged out of the system he promised to take her in, having noticed that something more was going on with her Jack wanted to get her the help she unfortunately wasn’t receiving at the home. Through the recommendation of his mentor Jack joined the LA branch of Spectre Corps, hoping to be more involved with occult issues and offer support where he could. As soon as he got settled he worked to get his new sister into counseling which helped tremendously but they both noticed some things and realized she had latent psychic abilities.

Some time after she turned 18 his sister came to him claiming she had another vision, this time involving Jack. Remembering the last time she’d been this insistent, Jack suggested they go to Spectre Corps HQ, hoping other psychics could help her figure this out.

Jack is about as stubborn as they come, often picking fights and jumping to conclusions too quickly. Having hoped he’d find a family to call his own he’s incredibly protective of his sister if not overbearing at times but he loves her dearly and would do anything for her. Can be untrusting of others and overly cautious towards new people, especially with humans due to a prior bad experience. Despite this he’s very proud of his werewolf traits and doesn’t bother to hide them in any way.
