Hamlet was not born in the Wildwoods but was brought there soon after his birth. Together with his Mother and Grandparents he spend his cheerful childhood in the maintown.
In his early years in school Hamlet noticed his deep interest in Mushrooms and their biology. So he was planning to work with them in the future and studied hard to become a mycologist. Soon after finishing his studies his Gandfather fell ill and no Doctor could seem to help him. With what he knew Hamlet tried to help his grandfather himself. Using unconventional medical methodes he created a medicin that acutally helped his grandfather. Feeling like he found his true calling Hamlet went to the Academy in the Skyward Citadel and got his Doctors license. On the way he sadly learned that most of his colleagues were wasting valuable opportunities to create new medicines due to the fear of overstepping boundaries. So he took it in his own hands and went his own path.
Back in the Withered Wildwoods he opened his own doctor's office offering his new treatments. At first the people were vary and fearful, but after he helped a Shawling that was already on the brink of death, people came to trust his competencies. They were still scared because with time he came up with even more unconventional practices! But most of the time the outcome was beneficial for the patient.
Using Spores from his beloved Mushrooms and their Poison in the right amount could do wonders to Shawlings and their health. Sure there were some minor set backs and rather questionable outcomes but his patients chances of survival and full recovery were still within 90%!
