Elias Ainsworth is a rather unusual Sinner. See, he has already distorted once, although he still retains his sanity; to the Hana Association, he is merely known as "The Thorn Mage", a Canard due to most being unable to find him unless he wishes to be found...and his refusal to harm those who do not harm him first.

The full potential of his abilities remain unknown, although Limbus Company is aware of his use of "glamour" in order to conceal his skull-headed appearance. He currently takes on an androgynous form inspired by someone he claims was dear to him.

Do note that while Elias will never be as knowledgeable as Miss Faust, he does have great knowledge of herbal medicines, occult practices, and an almost photographic memory. Those, along with his eagerness to learn, will prove to be quite helpful, Manager. Oh, yes, his weapon? The two large hunting knives he wields are, as a set, called "Nettles". Do take care not to end up on the wrong side of them.

Default E.G.O.: Pilum Murialis, a Pride Pierce EGO. "Nettles in the shadows, a wheel of hollies..."
Height: 6'7" (main form), 5'3" (glamor)
Note: Elias's glamor is a modified version of Chise's appearance, using whites and grays where Chise's red hair and green eyes would have been.

Chise Hatori was a girl who had, before the White Nights and Dark Days, seen more than enough for a person to distort. Her father and little brother left them, and her mother had committed suicide right in front of her. She was then shifted to an orphanage, where nobody would dare to take her.

When she was in her early twenties, the White Nights and Dark Days happened -- happened on a night when she had contemplated suicide herself. However, instead of distorting, Chise managed to not only turn away from her plan, but also gain an E.G.O. of her own, known as "Sleigh Beggy".

This, however, began to attract Distortions to her.

She submitted herself to a marketplace in the Backstreets a year later, only for a Nest-dwelling Distortion to buy her for an overwhelming amount of ahn. This would be Elias Ainsworth, the Thorn Mage, taking Chise into his home and ensuring that she would be safe and cared for.

Elias gave her a sense of freedom, undoing her shackles and telling her that he would teach her how to wield weapons against the Distortions that could harm her. Alongside her E.G.O., she became a proficient fighter alongside Elias, and the two would fall in love.

A year and a half after he had bought her from the auction, the two had wed.

Before Chise could reach the age of thirty, though, a Distortion attacked the two of them after they had a long day of working already. Desperate to save her husband, she overclocked her E.G.O. -- obliterating a Star of the City Distortion at the cost of her own life.

The Thorn Mage, stricken with grief over the loss of his wife, and furious at the gall of the Distortion for taking her, spent several months hunting down other Distortions before Limbus Company approached him for a job. Truthfully, this had come at an opportune time, before Elias could turn his vengeful gaze at Syndicates and Associations.

Unfortunately, as previously stated, a lot of other Sinners and busses were very uncomfortable with working with a Distortion, no matter how he tailored his appearance to make them more comfortable. He would eventually be placed on Dante's bus.
