Bailey Walker

Overview

A Genderqueer teen who is obsessed with bees and wants to do what they can to save the bees and learning everything they can about beekeeping.  Spends more time at their beehive looking after it than actually going out. 

Backstory

Bailey was diagnosed as being a high functioning autistic person when they were quite young, but they never really felt much different thanks to their moms support.  They are best friends with their mom, who is a college art professor, and is open to Bailey's expression of gender and interests. I'm sure Bailey had their fair share of being picked on in school, but they never really longed for close friends or to impress anybody else, instead just living in their own little bubble with their studies and being around their mother.  I'm sure they had friends that came and went over the years, but they haven't had any long term relationships.. again, not that they really minded.  

Their mother purchased them their very own beehive when they were in junior high, just a small one to take care of some bees in their backyard near a pond, and Bailey was so happy about this.  Over the years, the tiny hive has grown so much, and even though Baileys mom was a bit worried at first that they wouldn't be taken care of as well, Bailey did an amazing job with them. 

The hive produces a ton of honey now, which Bailey's mom uses in a bunch of recipes, and Bailey gives out in mason jars as gifts to people, as the honey is too much for just them and their mother to eat. 

Now Bailey is out of high school, and is having a bit of time adjusting to all this free time they have.  They have probably tried a few little odd jobs part time but they can be really high anxiety situations for them, and honestly if they can get away with being home all the time to take care of the house and the bees they much prefer that.  Bailey's mom probably babies them a bit more than needed to since they are an only child.

Their mom takes in a homestay child from another country every school year to live in their home, so Bailey is exposed to different types of people but they don't really get close to any of them that stay there.

Bailey's mother attempts to bring Bailey out to art events and such when she goes to help out with them, and at one of them Bailey met a girl named Harper who started to hang around them a lot more... even if Bailey doesn't really know how to talk to them.  In a short amount of time Harper has gone into being friends into asking them out, and now Bailey isn't sure how to take it all, since they've never really dated anybody before. 

Misc Facts

• Will wear clothes of any gender, as long as it's yellow they like it.
• Wears gloves all the time to keep from getting stung but also to protect their skin if somebody shakes their hand cuz skin on skin contact can be a lot for them.
• Natural bags under eyes but also insomniac so that doesn't help with eye bags either
