The youngest child of two human parents. She was adopted by them and grew up on their ranch in a small farming community. Things were good, she lived a simple life and was loved by them. Eventually however all good things come to an end. The community was raided by some criminals on the run and to destroy evidence they set their farm house ablaze. Esme’s parents were killed in the flames while she survived via hiding in the barn where her Mother had stored her away. Once the criminals left she climbed out of the hayloft and watched as her life burned to the ground. In the ashes of what was left behind she finds her parents corpses which she sets with until she is discovered by the neighbors and taken in. Overwhelmed with grief and a desire for revenge at the loss Esme steals some gold from the farming family and enough food to last a few days before running off. She manages to pay her way onto a wagon heading towards "Starlidian" city. Once there Esme is confronted with the hard life of a street rat. She works hard though and trades in secrets, she is an apprentice spy under the city’s spy master in exchange for a meager amount of coin that she uses to buy food. Growing hateful and bitter she distrusts everyone around her but can put on a nice smile while hunting for information. During this time Esme makes her first kill. While listening in on a conversation she hears the name of the man who killed her family. Overcome with a blind rage Esme attacks the man who spoke of him in an alleyway stabbing him to death. After this Esme begins to hear voices. Specifically those whom she has killed. They follow the young girl and are in her service. The voices she wishes to hear most - her parents - are never there. .

Esme becomes infatuated with life and death, deciding to be a far more kind and excitable person now that she can see the error of her ways. She continues her work as a spy and continues to kill though now she does so with a smile on her face and pink bows covering her outfits. .
