Despite her cute appearance, Newt is a rather curmudgeonly creature. Comfortable in extreme solitude with only fish for company, she tends to disregard anyone who isn't native to her environment, taking a long time to warm up to strangers no matter how persistent they might be. She is something of a guardian to any pond she chooses to inhabit, caring deeply about nature and it's habitats, and does not look kindly on them being disturbed. Despite her general ambivalence towards others, she greatly enjoys pranks--leave your things sitting at the edge of her pond at your own risk. As a Tadpole cat, she is an amphibious creature, comfortable on land as well as in water (which she can breathe) though she generally prefers the comfort and freedom of movement of water to the slow pace she manages on land, and isn't capable of any significant running. A rare sight in any terrain, it is often wondered if she might be the last of her kind. |
