I decided to go the Galarian Corsola/Cursola route with this little guy in terms of lore! Concept is that after overfishing became a problem in one region, the Slowpoke/Slowbro/Slowking population began to decline drastically-as did the specific kind of Shellder that helps them evolve, due to them both starving. Due to this, most of the Shellder they catch on their tails are in the process of dying-leading to this ghostly new form when they both evolve from their shared hunger pains. It's dark, but to be fair, most ghost type Pokémon are in some way
